PJS is thrilled to be co-presenting the inaugural Lyric Lane Jazz Festival with Jess Herbert. 3 nights of incredible local jazz! On Saturday Sep 18 you can catch:
6-7pm: Sofie Kerr
Join Sofie Kerr and her fantastic band to enjoy a night of celebrating jazz and live music! Sofie (a jazz vocalist currently studying at WAAPA) will be joined by some of Perth’s best: Jessica Carlton on trumpet, James O’Brien on piano, Alistair Peel on bass and Gavin Kerr on the drums. Sofie is super excited to be working with the Perth Jazz Society and the other fantastic groups playing to present some fantastic vocal jazz!
7.40-8.40pm: Ali Bodycoat and Libby Hammer
For over twenty years Perth Grand Dames Ali Bodycoat and Libby Hammer have been gracing Australian stages and refining the craft of their jazz singing. They each boast a respected position in the local jazz world, and as soloists, they hold their own with the world’s best. Tonight, these ‘two glorious local hummingbirds’ join forces to meld together not only their impressive jazz voices, but the repertoire of the Golden Age of American song. Performing some of the greatest standards ever written, these two hip and elegant women interweave lyrics and harmonies into exquisite and dramatic medleys and mashups that celebrate Tin Pan Alley composers such as Gershwin, Porter, Kern, Mercer and Cy Coleman. A night of glamour, playful chemistry and gorgeous voices.

Perth Cabaret Collective can’t wait to return to Lyric’s stage and boy, oh boy do they have a show for you! They’ll be playing all of your favourites, plus some brand spanking new tunes to get you up and dancing. Come and see what all the fuss is about!
